michael “shroud” grzesiek isn’t a streamer known for letting emotion get the better of him. usually calm and collected, shroud got very angry on his stream after losing a battle in apex legends due to lag. the clip below captures the moment.
“we literally lost to these guys because of f***ing lag. i’m gonna break something!” shroud yelled. “holy s***, i hate when stuff isn’t in my control… i can’t play until it’s fixed. i can’t play in this lag. this is pubg predictions all over again,” he continued. as talented as shroud is, lag is the one opponent too difficult for anyone to overcome. this is especially true for a game that is as fast-paced as apex legends.
pubg was one of the first battle royale games to gain extreme popularity but has always been plagued by issues with latency. this eventually led to its downfall from the number one battle royale title, opening the door for games such as fortnite and now apex legends.
apex legends has had a few similar issues to date. players disconnecting is one of the few major complaints players currently have. it isn’t surprising that apex is experiencing issues with lag considering the game surpassed 10 million unique players in 72 hours. that fact doesn’t make the issues any less frustrating for players who experience them, especially when streaming to as many people as shroud does.
respawn entertainment is aware of these lag issues. they have addressed connectivity issues as well as cheating and other grievances in their latest check-in.
we’ve got a quick respawn check in for you tonight addressing a few topics. enjoy and have a great weekend! https://t.co/nvz8si7vjp

for players who love the game, fixing connectivity issues can’t happen soon enough.
